3:1 - Calw knocks Moslesfehn out of home DM
The match with the best atmosphere in the stands took place in the final preliminary round encounter between TSV Calw and DM host SV Moslesfehn. The home team fought bravely, but could not prevent the 1:3 defeat.
After the false start in the DM, host Moslesfehn must now win unconditionally, in order to not only sit in the spectator stands on the second day in their own hall. Cheered on by the red fan block, things initially went according to plan for SVM coach Till Oldenbostel. Moslesfehn was leading 4:2 and 5:4, benefiting from slight mistakes by the Calw women. But as time goes by, things are going better for TSV, and hitter Henriette Schell turns the score around to 9:6 and 10:7. Nevertheless, Moslesfehn is able to fend off two set points, then Karen Meyer hits a long shot out of bounds - 8:11. Similar forecasts could be found on the live bettins sites 2022.
The North Germans quickly put the set loss behind them, fight for every point and are back in front 5:4 after a Schell error. Again, Calw is back immediately and corrects the small blemish with a four-point series. Moslesfehn brings in Anna Keyser for Marlen Schmertmann, but also makes two service errors and then has to fend off five set points. But that doesn't work at all - Sabine Grüning hits into the sideline.
In the third set, the home team is clearly behind at first, but then turns a 2:5 into a 6:5. But it is the last stand against elimination: Calw does not let SVM pull away, equalizes at 9:9 and then makes the first match point perfect with Henny Schell. Karen Meyer can defend once with the serve, once in the return. Then the first match point Calw - and the defense of the SVM. At 13:13 Calw makes a mistake and drops a Meyer serve. With the second to last chance Moslesfehn finally wins the set - Sabine Grüning scores via Henny Schell for 15:13.
This loss of the set visibly hurt the German champion of 2019. The Oranges once again clearly improve and clearly pull ahead: 8:4. "We are Mossis, we never give up" chant the fans of the home team - but they can no longer really counter. More than a little correction of the result is no longer possible. At 10:5, Calw has five match points and uses the first one: Schell with a return shot on the line and the 11:5.
SV Moslesfehn is thus eliminated after two defeats - Calw follows the group winner TV Jahn Schneverdingen into the semi-finals. The opponent of the Black Forest team will be determined in the last match of the day.
